In life, and in my writing, I have but one goal...
okay, not in life, but in my writing.
I don't aim to be "right", nor to be "proper", although both of those would be nice.
I aim to simply make people think.
Even if you disagree, even if you hate what I say - if saying it (or writing it, rather) made you THINK about it, then I did what I set out to do. So many people don't bother even thinking about what they assume are the truths and facts in life.
90% of all those facts are things your parents taught you to be absolute, but, as you've likely discovered, even if you didn't really connect with it... at the age your parents were when they told you these wonderous absolutes, you don't "know" shit.
What makes you think they did?
They really didn't. It's amazing the things people will tell kids to get them to shut up... and... even more amazing how much of it kids not only believe, but cherish, hold on to, and infect their own children with later in life.
