Yesterday day was a prime example of why I am friends with Sean.

I already had all of my stuff packed in the back of my sister's truck, when I pulled up to Sean's at 7:30am. It didn't take us long to get all of his stuff into the truck, and by the time we were done, the back of the truck was so solidly packed with our belongings that we had to squeeze the hatch closed like the cover of an overstuffed suitcase. And then we hit the road.

We were both kind of sleepy, but that was of no matter. We had coffee, we had an agenda, and we were on the road. I have taken a lot of roadtrips with a lot of different people, and they are usually fun. They also usually have some periods of extreme boredom, particularly when you are only traveling with one other person. It is never like that when I am driving with Sean though. We have driven to so many random places, at all hours of the day and night, and I have rarely to never been bored or irritated. We usually don't even have the radio on. In short, the drive was great, and we made it to Philly in pretty good time.

Once we were here, we had to wait around for a bit, for our landlord to make us keys, and then we got ourselves moved in. The moving in didn't really take long, since we only had one truckload and all. While we were moving our stuff, we met a bunch of our neighbors, and they were all really nice, and excited to see "cool" people moving onto the block. There seems to be a lot of camaraderie and hanging out on stoops going on in our neighborhood, and I think that is awesome. Some younger guy invited me back to drink a beer on his stoop, while Sean was off getting a sandwich. I think I am going to like this neighborhood a lot.

the rest of the day was spent trying to track down free or cheap furniture, since we don't own any. We were successful in finding Sean a bed. the story of the bed makes our moving to Philly even more awesome. We found a girl on Craigslist that had a single bed in her guest room, which had barely been used, and she needed to get rid of it quick. I still have my sister's truck, so we drove out to Mt. Airy to pick it up. By the time we got there it was pouring rain, but the girl and her boyfriend were really nice, and helped us carry everything out and get it in the truck. And THEN just as we were about to drive off, there was a tapping on the window. The girl had run back outside IN THE RAIN to see if we wanted to come up and hang out for a minute and smoke. How awesome is that? She gave us a free bed, they helped us carry shit, in the rain, and then she got herself soaked, just to be hospitable. Seriously, this "City of Brotherly Love" shit is out of control.

On our way home (Yes, home, as in our house, as in we fucking live here) we stopped at our old WaWa, for dinner, and then had a relaxing evening, watching the International comedy Festival on Sean's computer, and eating hoagies.

I am so glad to be home.
