The girl, the one that I can't trust.
She has this way about her that I can't resist.
She has a manner that I am so comforted by.
When I'm near her I forget why she's bad.
I don't remember why she's bad for me.
Maybe she isn't.
It is entirely possible that problem is how my brain still works too
conventionaly.
I still think of time in a linear fashion, as hard as I try not to.
I can't trust her with my heart.
I can't believe that she's the one for me,
But she doesn't need to be.
There is a time that I am going to leave, and that time is coming soon.
And when that happens she'll just be something nice that happened to
me.
I know this,
And she knows this,
And this is the way we want it to be.
It is good that she's reintroducing me to what it is to need.
Because for years now I've been against needing.
And when I am gone and resettled, I will remember how that feels.
And then I will find someone that I CAN trust.
It won't matter how far I can throw them,
Because when I find them,
I will never put them away.
This girl,
The one I can't trust.
She is teaching me how to need.
