Subject: Where in every ounce of fagginess in Arties shines through.

Dear H&M,

I am writing you this ficticious letter to let you know that you have not only found your way back into my good graces, but have have renewed the love that I once had for you, but thought dead.

I am sorry for leaving you behind, but I was pretty angry when you stopped selling men's clothes at my local store. It would have almost been better to not have any H&M at all, than to have one that taunts me with Women's, and childeren's clothes, but offers nothing for me, save attractive and reasonably priced sunglasses. Sunglasses, however, ARE NOT ENOUGH. Do you realize that you were the only clothing store, in the Sangertown Mall, that I shopped at? Well you were, I remember how excited I was the first time I graced your aisles. At last, a store that sells clothes to fit tall skinny dudes. At last, a store that realizes that not every one who is tall is stocky. I am not "Big and Tall" I am skinny, I am tiny, deminuative even, "and Tall". You were the one, H&M, who made me feel appreciated, who allowed me to clothe myself in attractive clothes, that fit me, and I could afford, but then you snatched it out from under my feet.

In the years since the men's line was discontinued in Utica, I have taken many trips to other H&M's. Syracuse, Albany, Manhatten, several in Philadelphia. Each time I felt cheated. Yes these other stores had men's options, but they just didn't live up to my memories of how wonderful your clothes are. Maybe it is just that I had an unfair expectation in my head, but I don't think that was it. I remembered your clothes as being simple, stylish, wonderfully cut, and just a touch ahead of trend. I remember your style as being easy, not lazy, but not taking itself too seriously. Yours was the style of men and women who have a fraction of a fashionista's budget, but dress better than most wealthy folk, because they UNDERSTAND STYLE, they know what looks good. That is the way that I remember your clothes in those first few years, when I was able to comfortably paruse your racks, in my home town.

What I have found on your shelves, for the past few years, has been a few rare gems, surounded by a sea of misdirected ideas, and concept designs that have no connection to reality. Maybe I am beeing too harsh, but lately you give off the vibe or the gorgeous girl who gets some attention from boys and then starts "acting pretty" and ruins her true beauty. Each trip I took left me more and more disapointed as the memorie that I have of your clothes was tarnished more and more by the reality of what you have been hanging in your stores lately.

I will not linger on the negative, however, because this is not a letter of complaint, it is one of praise, adoration, and love. You have returned to my good graces, H&M, and you have done so with STYLE.

Just yesterday, I stopped into your Carosel Center location (Syracuse, NY, USA) to kill some time while on a trip to the movies. I must say I was astounded by what I saw. It was like walking into H&M six years ago. Not that the clothes looked like they came from 2001, but the sense of style was reminiscent of when I first started shopping at H&M. The ease is back, the comfort is back, that laid back confident style, that I loved so, is back. Yes, there were some things that I wasn't so fond of, that is to be expected at any store, but the over all feel was what I remember and love about H&M.

I hadn't really planned on spending any money at all, but I ended up dropping about 150$ That may not sound like much to some, but to me, it is a large part of my weekly income. I don't regret it one bit however. In actuality, you fulfilled 3 separate holes in my wardrobe, holes that I have been lamenting over for months.
There was the simple, black, zip up, sweater jacket. DONE
There was the puffy vest(NOT filled with down {I am a Vegan}) DONE
Lastly and most importantly, there was the black canvas jacket, a cross between a blazer and a military BDU style coat. I have been dreaming of and searching for this coat for close to a year now. There it was, sitting on your shelves, in a size and cut that fit me perfectly.
Of course I also had to pick up a new pair of mirror finished aviator sunglasses.

God bless you H&M, God bless you to hell.

I love you,
ArtieKGB
