Three days coming up of 70s and 50s at night - I love it! Sex weather - woo hoo!
It is going to be too hot again today; ugh. At least tonight will bring mid 50s F and the next day mid 70s; repeat for each of the next three days. I'm sure many will complain about the non-summer like weather, but I'll be loving it (and loving the undisturbed sleep I'll be getting). It has been brutal sleeping lately.
wishing all the fathers out there a happy Father's Day. Celebrated my first such occasion by relaxing and caring for the newborn. She/s very cute and cuddly, even with the hot weather and when she's fussy.

Thanks!
And happy belated fathers day to you.
I hope it was a good day.

with today came the thunderstorms again, beautiful in their power and renewing with their rain. Shant have to water the gardens for a while; that's good as I've not hooked up hoses this year yet. Better still was the break in the weather, meaning the heat and humidity slid out of here and we've been graced with 50 degrees tonight and low humidity - hooray!...

It is too effing hot. I mean, *way* too fucking hot. I hate heat and humidity, and humidity even more. It isn't like it is over 85, but the humidity makes it nasty. Someday I might have enough money to buy a place with central air, but right now we're all suffering. Dunno how the cats can make it so easily, I'm only scruffy on...

spent the past hour watching an amazing lightning storm. Love seeing the dramatic sky: the bright flashes and the discreet zags, all are great.

Oh, yeah; we'll still have to figure how to get it out of the marshes and oceans. pertinent Boston Globe article

Back to work after the short paternity leave. Major crisis here and all I can think of is returning home to be with my wife and baby. Good thing, since this fiasco of a project would drive me insane if I thought more on it.
I've known about SG for a while thanks to WillWheaton and his great writing. Finally got around to joining and supporting the cause, so to speak, only to learn that people (close to) my age and experience are leaving. Sad to see. You older / more mature / longtime / Suicide Girls - stick around! It is because of your life experience that some of...

I have been on the site for 7 years. I have seen so many people come and go. The good ones seem to be the ones that leave.

I used to say that about where I work (back when I'd been there for 5 years); then I realized I was still there. :-) So, I agree, Niobe, it can feel that way. However, some good ones stick around.
"Some say God speaks to him in Unix" (a great pane from this weekend's Sunday Dilbert). I've a friend I used to work with that that could have been describing. Yeah, not me, though I do speak Unix some. Time to dust off some of those skills.
As for work, well, the good news it is the end of the day and I survived. The...
