I have internet again. I'm having a hard time staying above water these days, and I don't really know anyone out here, but last night I kicked my ass and went dancing in downtown Minneapolis by myself, about an hour away.
The club was half full but the floor was empty, everyone standing to the side with their drinks. I surveyed the floor and waited and did the thing that I do at dance clubs.
A song came on that moved right through me, and I took the floor, and danced. The deejay started saying how hot I was, and the club circled around me, and I threw myself into it-- and halfway through the deejay started the song over for me because he said I deserved it. I danced till the end of the song, and one of the hired dancers came over and swept the floor at my feet with towel and gave me a hat with a club logo on it.
The song ended and the floor filled up, the ice broken, and people began to let go and enjoy the night.
