Ahhhhhh New Year's.
I was deep in the Grand Canyon for New Year's (and Christmas). Jan 1, 2011 was a sunny, fun day, with the girls dancing on the raft as we floated the last bit of the 225 mile trip.
Resolutions. Silliness!!! I've learned to not be too specific, and usually resolve to have resolution and determination. It worked out well for 2010. I had many new adventures and personal first.
1. Did some real snowshoeing for the first time in 2010.
2. Did some backcountry skiing and snowboarding for the first time in 2010. (a couple of personal first accents)
3. Went real rock climbing for the first time in 2010 (multi pitch trad climbing, not just bouldering or top roping)
4. Did my first circumnavigation of Manhattan Island in my sea kayak in 2010.
5. Made my first trip down the Grand Canyon by kayak in 2010.
6. Started this polymer photogravure process in 2010.
7. Taught figure drawing at the college level for the first time in 2010.
Made several new friends, a few good art-world contacts, and had alot of other fun.
If I can keep the same determination and curiosity alive in 2011, I'll have another good year.
I hope that everyone's resolutions are within reach, reasonable, and exciting.
