NYC area to Asheville, NC to middle of nowhere on the Georgia/South Carolina line and now in Little Rock, AR
I brought a bunch of boats down for the guys that work with me at the Asheville demo center and the timing worked out so I could catch the reception for this fund raiser I painted some helmets for.

The next day a few of us went to a river that I have been wanting to run for a very long time. They filmed most of the on river scenes here for the movie "Deliverance". Towards the end is the big canyon wall in the movie and it is soooooooooo easy to recognize. Kind of funny. But, I didn't want to get on the river because of the movie. I wanted to get on it because of the rapids. There are some great photos and a description on the American Whitewater site

With fewer boats on top and inside the van, I thought the rest of my drive to Colorado would be easy. Nope. I stared hearing a little extra road noise last night. Today there was something rubbing. About 5pm today I heard a big POP and metal on metal sound. I pulled to side of the road as fast as possible. Long story short, I got towed 50 miles into Little Rock, Arkansas and am hanging out in a hotel until I can talk to a mechanic on Monday morning.
The tow truck driver was very friendly and advised against getting a hotel at the first exit, because of the shady business that goes on in the truckstops and two hotels there. He brought me and my broken van one more stop to a overly lighted strip of fast food restaurants, shopping malls, with new looking hotels and a few bars around the corner.
Tonight shouldn't be a problem, but what to do in Little Rock on a Sunday?
