Blogging is hard

So I'm trying to start a blog. They say you should pick one topic for your blog and stick to it. But that sounds boring to me - why would I want to write about just one thing? That's like artists who just make one type of painting. Boring, predictable. Maybe that's what people do really want, but it's not for me, no.

What do you think? Do you like blogs that stay on topic?
