#SGHomework What is something you wish you'd learned sooner? (Advice you can pass on)

@rambo and @missy Asked us what is something we wished we had learned sooner that we can pass on.

I thought on this one for a moment, and I figured I'd write about something I am currently going through. I guess the thing I wish I had learned sooner is that nothing is ever as you want it.

While I had knew this lesson for a while, it is really starting to hit hard now that I am becoming an independent adult in my early twenties.

I am one of those people who like to plan for every big decision they are about to face. Before I moved to continue my college education after receiving my associate's degree, I had two jobs so that I could still spend money and save up for my move at the same time. Before my move, I had quite a bit of money saved up, and I was pretty proud of myself. But, when I got here, I didn't plan on not working as much as I had when I was back home. I was still working with one of the same companies that I had been back home and transferred to the place here and just assumed everything would still be the same. But, my boss was for some reason only working me on the weekends, and that was not working for me. So, I got a second job to try to make ends meet, but still had to dig into my savings. Eventually, I got to the point where I no longer had to touch my savings and things were starting to look up, until my laptop crashed. Once again, I had to dig into my savings for a brand new laptop.

Now, with the semester ending, my dorm is about to close and I am now getting an apartment. Which means, time to touch my savings again! While this was the point of my savings, I don't know how I am going to feel without have a cushion to land on when things get tough again.

If I could just learn to accept that life will never be the way you plan it to be, I could stop being so hard on myself and let go and live.

Life isn't meant to be taken so seriously. While, there are times to keep your head on your shoulders to keep yourself out of trouble, not everything has to be so kept in order.
