I haven't kept a blog in about 5 years. Nowadays, my thoughts are thrown into fragments via various forms of social media. Life's been picking up pace ever since I hit my mid-20s but this past year in particular has been on overdrive; I have to literally schedule in cleaning out my cat's litter let alone find time to sit down in front of a computer and maintain a blog. While showering last night, it dawned on me that I'm purely overcommitting, that I'm working harder rather than smarter and overall not being time efficient with my time. So I've decided to re-assess all aspects of my life ie. cut down my working hours and spend less time doing non-value adding activities which then frees up my time to do the little things such as these - like be active on SG.
I shot my very first set at the #sydneyshootfest last month. The house was beautiful, the babes were stunning and the whole weekend just oozed of creativity and talent. I was incredibly nervous for my first set but the magicians @frankndame made me feel at ease - just great people to work with. I was also lucky to receive tips and direction from @opheliacreep who is just a goddess, I'm just as shocked as everyone else that she hasn't turned pink yet. Despite coming home with my legs (and butt!) peppered in mozzie bites (it was an outdoor shoot on the garden deck), It felt great to have my first over and done with. I shot my 2nd set with the babely @atlanticlungs which was a quick one, considering also we had another shoot going on in another part of the room. No complaints here as I was able to witness the amazing @vorpal shoot her set which was very handy for newbies like me and a bonus too, 'cause she's just stunning to watch.
But the highlight would be meeting other hopefuls, SGs, photographers and SG friends from all over the country. It's good to be surrounded by creatives; where beauty is celebrated in whichever shape or form. I can't wait to show you all my first set! I'm already thinking of ideas for my next one! Maybe Brisbane Shoot Fest? It's late and a new week starts tomorrow. This tea better help me sleep, or maybe the whiskey will? x
