Looks like I'm back at square one with trying to borrow costumes for my movie. CSF doesn't have any wigs, and those are too important for 18th century outfits.
Overall I think we're at the point I had hoped this wouldn't get to -- I am not having a good time trying to get this together. I hoped at least getting everything together wouldn't be...

It's true we have here in Santa Fe a particularly lame Renaissance Faire that seems to think 18th century pirates = Renaissance, but unfortunately I think they get their costumes from that same horrible costume shop I already dealt with. (Thus probably why the people are convinced 18th century and Renaissance are the same thing, because that lady that runs the shop doesn't know the difference either.)

network out of town/state?
Well, I am already not feeling hopeful about the College of Santa Fe costumes, because it's been an entire day and all that's happened is I passed email info on to the girl in charge of costumes, meaning if I'm lucky I'll hear back from her tomorrow. Things can't move this slowly -- I need to know I have costumes before I can cast the...

Maybe for good, maybe for bad -- College of Santa Fe got in touch to let me know they might have costumes, BUT, I will have to finish the movie (or at least the filming of the movie) by May 15th which is the last day the school is open before summer vacation; no one is on staff after that, so it is the absolute...

Good luck with everything- this seems no less an undertaking than it would be for a general planning his campaigns (perhaps Napoleonic wars...?
)
Uhhhnnnnnn...
Still on the costume hunt for my film. Still not heard back from the opera, and I have heard some discouraging news about them to boot (basically that they put multi-thousand dollar insurance values on their costumes, meaning that even a snagged thread or popped button could be considered $900 in damage.) Still, they seem my best hope -- they're the only place in...

Bought up a new domain for my occult shop at Lucky-Temple.com -- I now have to figure out a way to put up content. I am hoping to avoid using that WebSite Tonight crap that GoDaddy offers for free, as I've not only found it generally very unpleasant to use, but also I don't like how the free version limits you to 5 pages AND...

wordpress is a good Content Management System, that is easy to use and allows for a fair bit of control. All you need is for it to be configured and away you go.
My current thought about the tarot site is maybe I will dump the TaliasTarot.com domain, and buy up a new address and try to start afresh there with a new fortune telling site that hopefully will attract a better class of customer. This way I could still make money doing the only thing I've ever found that makes a penny, while hopefully not having to...

I was kinda looking forward to that film til I read he was at the helm. He really irritates me.

I'm contemplating the possibility of trying to make the tarot site a bit more worthwhile by just massively jacking up the prices -- $100 per reading or so. Even if I got less business, it might make it feel less hellish whenever I would get business. Or maybe I'd still do better to just shut it down completely. I definitely don't get any pleasure out...

I am trying to figure out what to do about that damned tarot website. It really is my only source of income other than the small supplements of eBay (and I got a depressing little note from eBay just today letting me know my average daily sales come out to a whopping $0.67) and the books (lately about an extra $120 a month) but not...

Hmmm. Seems to me the last one that one would wish to treat less than intelligently, or respectfully, would be someone who has magic down.
But then, stupid people are... well, *stupid*.

Well -- I have created a Facebook page for my short movie. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gentlemen-Prefer-Wigs/120270494657115
Unfortunately the location I'd been wanting won't work (too many electrical devices permanently bolted to the walls.) I've also still heard back nothing from the opera one way or another, which is a rather bad sign -- SFO I am counting on you! HELP!

So -- in the name of doing something I don't hate, I've decided to work on getting one of my screenplays made into a movie which I'll direct myself. We're starting out by doing just one short scene, as a sort of 'pilot' to not only test if I have the patience for this all and get a sense of what we need to look...

Some tips on getting shit for free in regards to shooting something. For donations of props and sets and wardrobe items, ADVERTISE for the people doing the lending. Put them on your website, on your promo material, Stick their logo and name and links on all your stuff.
Also get a bunch of credit cards and use them to finance the project. Shoot in HDV 1080i 50i so that it will look good. If you need any editing advice or post production advice, don't hesitate to ask. its what I do
