Had some kind of dream in which the Gulf Oil leak and my search for actors got combined, I think it was something about an endless flow of bad actors, or using bad actors to plug the leak.
I posted on the New Mexico Film website my newly edited casting call in hopes it might bring some fresh prospects. Unfortunately, all it's achieving so far is the resubmission of the same people I didn't want the first time around. I wonder if they'd still work if I took money out of the equation -- I wouldn't pay these people to be in my...

Columns? I've never seen it do that but you can turn off Rich Text and turn on Plain Text and it won't do anything but give you a giant piece of paper. I use a little freeware idea/writing program called Idea Knot. It's not the most powerful thing in the world but I like it.

You can acquire Word for Mac easily enough
It being already Wednesday, and the fellow I wanted to call back still not having confirmed he can make it to an audition Saturday, I've decided to cancel the Saturday film auditions altogether.
I am going to try reposting the casting calls, with more specific wording, to see if I can get some better people. We got way too many people from Albuquerque who can't...

You know... a black rasta man in period clothes could really turn the mood of the piece on its head.

There is almost a movie in the making in the making of this movie.
An impromptu poem someone wrote on a message board while watching live BP Underwater Camera footage:
Big eel swimming by. Big eel please don't die.
Big eel by the oil. Big eel avoid the boil.
Big eel scales so white. Big eel in the eerie light.
Big eel swim away. Big eel live another day.
Linguistically not great but I actually sort of like it.

Went through my SG Friends and deleted anyone whose main purpose just seemed to be to post long strings of naked pictures and then direct everyone to go vote on them. I know lots of people join SG because they enjoy naked pictures: I am not one of them. I'm here because I heard about the site and potential $500 sounded really good to me...

To be fair, only a VERY marginal percentage of the naked on here is any good anyway.
I basically bought a blog. With the odd boob every now and then.

Honestly, yes, I did join for the naked pictures, but at this point I've generally lost interest in those. There are an awful lot of interesting people around these parts. Plus, this place has the advantage of being quite private. Like I said a few blogs back, it's nice to know I could pretty safely say things around here that I could not elsewhere.
But I'll just have to see how long this place stays interesting. I can see scenarios where I am here for years... and I can see scenarios in which I am gone inside of a couple of months.

Two days of casting for the part of Walter in my film. Day one went okay -- we saw 2 actors who I'd called (of 8) and both were decent. Then just as I was on my way out at the end of the casting it just chanced that I saw two teenage boys horsing around doing basically exactly what I needed, so I auditioned...

Hope everything works out
Good news -- on Tuesday I am arranged to take a look at the opera's costume stock! That's not quite the same yet as getting the costumes, but it's a step in the right direction -- if they're willing to deal with me at all it means they're more likely to lend the goods. Thanks to my dad for making the winning phonecall.

At this point with my movie, nothing good happening is the same as something bad happening. I still have no costumes. Last night I went and tried my luck contacting a reenactment group in Arizona offering anyone with their own correct-period outfits who wants to be in the film and come up and be so, but unfortunately even they don't seem to have much of...

Let's play a game! I learned this new passtime a few weeks ago -- what you do, is you choose a movie you don't ever intend to see so won't care if it's "spoiled" for you. Then, you reconstruct the plot using only negative reviews.
This is my effort at figuring out How To Train Your Dragon. It actually has very few negative reviews which...

Still no new progress on my movie. Have to contact the opera again and see about the costumes, and if the person in charge will actually answer me this time, but I don't feel too hopeful really. I guess I need to increase the budget somehow so I can sew outfits for everyone. Even another $100 - $150 might be adequate if I just do...

I use the classic measures- coffee and tea. And adrenalin and stomach acid.
Suddenly finding yourself responsible for getting a piece of software that you've never looked at before working, when it's not, and about a thousand people are waiting on you, will provide the latter pair in abundance.
It's even more fun when it may not even be a problem with the software in question, but an environmental issue, or problems elsewhere in the production system. It gets to be rather like a frantically-paced murder investigation, where if you solve the crime, the victim comes back from the dead. And where you (or the person you are standing in for) may have been the murderer.
It's always best when you exonerate yourself, of course.

But being elbow deep in a girl isn't always the motivating factor in attraction. Not all the time at least.
FYI, the book hunting date ended up being a 10 hour long conversation and my housemate was REALLY worried about me coz i left my phone at home and she was wanting to know if i wanted thai take out for dinner.
She's now in a drunken stouper. BEST HOUSEMATE EVER
