I think I could handle directing a film if I didn't have to be in charge of casting it, or making the costumes, or getting a camera, or planning how to use the camera, or instructing the actors, or choreographing the piece, or editing, or doing the makeup, or securing locations. Which doesn't leave much. In short, I'm not meant to be a director.

I'm starting to put together an edition of A String of Pearls (aka Sweeney Todd) and got some nice photos done to use for a cover. I mixed up a bunch of fake blood -- a combination of corn syrup, red food color and cocoa powder -- and poured it around the bathtub, then put a straightrazor I bought into it. I think this is...

Guess I am going to use my mom's New Englandish friend for the other role in the movie -- the other actress is going to be out of town too much during the necessary period. Trouble is this picture has taken so long to cast that I've kind of lost interest in it. I need to call up Elizabeth and start doing whatever is next...

I think we have ourselves a leading man for the Gentlemen Prefer Wigs movie! Now I just need to find him a Rich Lady. There are basically two candidates at this point -- one isn't really an actress but she's someone I know who looks suitable, and knows how to do a New England accent (which is close to an 18th century British accent.)...

If I have an ounce of energy this weekend... which would be more than I had the last, there are so many things of yours I want to catch up on.
Good luck with everything- and rock the Jury Duty! Sounds like you are going in seriously armed.

Tis a shame you're all the way over there (points non-specifically up), a period piece would be pretty simple to shoot and cut here in Oz.
Being all Commonwealthy and all.
WOO! for leading man!

Bringing up my old Sweeney Todd research made me think again I should try to get those discoveries I made out to the world, because no one else even two years later seems to have picked up on them. Thank heavens for Google Sites! Here is the page where I posted everything:

I got a review! The Duchess of Devonshire's Gossip Blog featured my version of Fanny Hill.
Meanwhile, I've got a question for any fluent French speakers or historians who know a bit. I'm trying to uncover the origins of Four Thieves Vinegar, and a few sources claim there's some records of the "parliament of Toulouse" that confirm the story about four thieves during the plague...

I could be wrong, but I think your query might be a bit esoteric for this site. Just by stepping out of this year, much less stepping several centuries back, you've lost most of your audience. Yes, that's right, I took the risk and successfully sounded like a pretentious ass. Hopefully I am wrong and someone will be able to help you. But until then, just remember: You want erotic, not esoteric. Well...or a combination of the two....

Indeed, because people on this site know nothing but porn. Porn and interviews with Chuck Palahniuk.
Was on Fark.com and saw a headline about how only 1 in 7 women is a virgin on her wedding night (frankly I'm surprised the numbers are that high. Shit, these days it seems most women have almost 7 husbands in a lifetime and clearly they can't be virgins for all of them, that alone would skew the results.)
Anyway, it caused me to recall...

Decided to audition the remaining boys who sent in resumes and headshots for my film; so I wrote to them and asked each of them to prepare a comic "inept minuet" to do at the audition and to write back with how long they except it'll take to choreograph, at which point I'll arrange a suitable time to audition them. Only one guy wrote back,...

You have a timeless face, thanks for your response to my post as well...
Still not happy with the state of trying to make my short movie. I have a new bunch of actors to audition but I don't really feel like it's even worth it. Maybe I should just give someone the part and spare the trouble; there's only one guy who has got a resume suggesting he can do what I need anyway.
Or maybe I should...

My movie needs a man about 20 years old -- I keep being submitted men about 40.
My movie needs a woman about 40 years old -- I keep being submitted women about 20.
And it's not a typo in the casting call this time around! Why, then, is this?

you know if it wasn't logistically impossible I'd put myself forward. I can flail about like an aristocratic fool with the best of them, and look nice in tights.
three people and excellent visual, verbal and written communication skills should be enough to make a short film.
