Got lucky tonight -- I was falling behind on my daily quote for the Petit Albert translation (trying to do 10 pages a day.) It was looking like I'd be skipping sleep altogether when I discovered that there were like 6 pages in a row (out of 10 I needed to do) that were nothing but illustrations. So I was able to actually surpass my quota. Yay!
I am having second thoughts about sending the work to a publisher though. I have one that's interested, and basically has already agreed to publish it. I haven't been able to get a straight answer about how much they would pay though, ("a percentage" is all I have to go on -- 0.5 is technically a percentage, so no real meaning behind that. I suppose they probably want to look it over and see how much additional editing it would need before they commit...) Plus I mistrust small publishers to be diligent and capable with royalty payments. The only real reason I want to have someone else print this is so that I can be eligible for grant money for future translation projects. But I might well earn more money off this project if I print it myself than I might get from grants in the long run.
