What little shits are Adam Frank and Ryan Kochevar! I want this word spread to all actors -- don't hire them or use them!

Admittedly I was on the verge of dismissing Adam tonight for having missed too many appointments anyway (I was actually intending to give him one more chance, but tell him if he missed anything else he was out.) Well, I was spared the trouble, for Adam and his pal Ryan both quit -- by email about 10 minutes after rehearsal already was to have started. They didn't even do so decently with a "this is more work than we can handle" kind of quitting that would have left us upset but still not reflected too badly on them -- nope, they quit with a "We're not feeling enough team spirit from you guys" (you know, us guys who showed up) and then told us we needed to start rehearsing now for next years commedia day because we suck so badly. Then this news so distressed one of my two remaining actors that he nearly left. Julia was evidently impressed by my refusal to allow this (but good lord, really -- if THIS commedia also failed I honest to God would have killed myself; that would just mean there's no hope for me, if this one also fell apart, and $300 in at that.)

Oh, I also liked how it was clear, from the contents of the email, that they really did believe they were destroying the whole production by leaving, but were doing it anyway.

Given that a friend of mine had priorly promised to be in the play "if you really need" we found tonight to be the night to call in that favor. So with him and my dad in, we are back to a complete cast. We're trying to squeeze in extra rehearsals to compensate, and need to go back to the costume shop tomorrow to see how the new actors fit in the outfits.

So blessings and bounty to my dad, John Felix, and Tim Scott for stepping in as our new cast members, and eke to Julia Felix and Steve Ruben for staying on! And pox and plague and illness to Ryan Kochevar and Adam Frank, may they never find joy in life.

You mercifully refrained from adding "or beyond", I see. wink
