Christmas didn't go too badly, yaay! We did the usual trip to my aunt's house, which is kind of unpleasant (to explain that she lives in a trailer that has a chandelier hanging from the ceiling tells the kind of place this is.) But, this year my dad had to work on Christmas night, so we didn't get stuck there for hours on end -- we stayed a much more tolerable 3 hours or thereabout then hurried back to Santa Fe. Also, for once it wasn't me having the temper tantrum at the family gathering! My cousin instead was angry about something (reportedly it was about how my aunt -- his mom -- has a different boyfriend every time he comes back to visit and he's sick of having to meet these guys he's never going to see again.)

My sister was given a Jingle Cats DVD by a friend that was surprisingly hilarious. For anyone who doesn't remember that trend, Jingle Cats were those holiday songs that made by editing together the meowing of cats to form the melody line. This DVD stepped that up by having cheap music videos of cats with halos drawn in, catnip covered microphones and harmonicas so that cats would appear to be playing instruments, and cats looped so they'd look like they're dancing. We were giggling at this all morning.

Presents I got include: wool tights (so now my legs won't freeze when I need to walk around), a jewelry armoire, a digital camera, an Erte calendar, and an Amazon gift certificate that I spent on buying a memory card for the camera and on a DVD of Muqaddar Ka Sikandar.

Stuff I got for other people include: King Kong and Son of Kong DVDs for my mom, the Amadeus special edition soundtrack for my sister, a Tom Robbins book for my dad, and a really cheap music box I found at Big Lots for my aunt that she loved surprisingly well (I've noticed she seems to like trinkets.)

Now with Christmas over it's time to focus on business again. I'm thinking of going into selling some spellcasting kits, but retail is always tricky -- I don't historically have good luck with it, and it requires investing actual money. At least with this Amazon Astore stuff you don't lose anything but time if it doesn't work out. I've been learning to make incense, and have an idea for some perfume if I can just find reasonably priced cosmetic grade denatured alcohol to experiment with while I determine the formula. These are more things I could sell though.

Another thing I've decided to sell is a Theater Kit for David Garrick -- 15 copies for $90, which equals one copy for each cast member plus an extra for the director. I figure this might encourage sales, not to mention actual performances for the piece. My dad semi-joked that I should hold an audition for David Garrick and require every actor who comes to buy a copy of the script -- wouldn't even need to perform the play, just act like I plan to.

Happy New Year- I hope the coming year will be a good one for you.
