My dad is in the livingroom drunk dialing all his old friends. For some reason he's claiming we still own a house in California and are going to move there next week (???)

Now two weeks later. How did it work out?

Mouth is aching from the tooth pull, more than it had the last few days (this is the first time I used any painkiller for it.) Hope it's not that "dry socket" all the literature warns about. The next alternative -- and unfortunately a few things, like that all the remaining molars on that side are hurting too, lead me to think this -- is...

just had a tooth pulled. Woo.

Actually it was more pleasant than getting a filling usually is -- they use strong anesthetic for an extraction. I didn't feel anything at all, I just heard a bunch of cracking noises. Of course, now I keep biting my tongue, in waiting for it to wear off. Cost was about $100 more than I hoped but I figured...

Writing an application for a translation grant. They should give you like $50 automatically just for filling out all this paperwork.

Woo! #9 on Google for "email tarot readings"!

As my dad says, "Now you just have to figure out how to kill the people in front of you."

Or make them surrender, bloodlessly.
Or get them to work for you.

I've always been a bit of an optimist.

Been plugging my Amazon store lately, it's actually kind of a nice little shoppy thing at this point, unfortunately I suspect most people don't just buy the stuff, instead they mark the books on their wishlist and thus I fail to get my commission even when they do buy it. I even had one frustrating case on a forum recently, where some girl said she...

Snuck back onto Yahoo Answer under an alias. Am back to doing what I like best -- translating horrible things into Latin for prospective tattoos! (Why in God's name would you want a tattoo in a language even you don't speak? And why would you think some free online translation software that left half the words in English was anything near accurate?)

No one ever...

I think I shall declare Fanny Hill a failure. I'd be lucky to make back what's spent on it, at this point.

Had an absolutely ghastly dream!

At the start, it was kind of funny, I was (variously) living in or housesitting an old house, or maybe like an apartment building. It looked a lot like part of the house a childhood friend used to live in. Apparently, someone online (I think from the old Brunching Shuttlecocks site) had rented this room years before me, and wrote...

This reminds me a bit of Lovecraft's "The Dreams in the Witch House"...

Saw an Unidentified Flying Object this evening, at least until we identified it.

(it was a balloon.)

What kind of balloon? Weather? Hot air?
aristophanes:
Hot air I think, though it could have been a weather balloon.

Hey, Pagan Bookworm reviewed my book, and liked it!
amarena:
ha! I had thought of that, but I just needed an excuse to put some 'tallica up there. (I suppose I could've put Turn the Page or Loverman up there...but still! lol)

And when it comes to you "You Really Got Me" covers, I'm a sucker for the cheesey romp that is the Van Halen version!

Nervous. Actually spent MONEY on an ad campaign for Fanny Hill. I only need to sell 7 copies to break even, which is why it seemed a reasonable move. It's supposed to get distributed to 300,000 semi-targeted people so it doesn't seem unlikely 7 of them would want to buy editions.

Incidentally, I have a suspicion the book Memoirs of a Geisha is a knockoff...
