Almost all of my Christmas shopping is now done. I just need to think of something to get for my grandmother's 34 year old non-English-speaking husband, which is a chore as you can imagine. He likes, as far as I can tell, beer and cigarettes. Unfortunately I do not think there is time before Christmas for me to brew for him cigarette flavored beer (I...

Today I ate acetone bread. God knows how acetone got into the bread, but my dad made some sandwiches for lunch and both my mom and I began eating them, and went "Eww! These taste like nail polish remover!" My dad couldn't sense it and seemed to think we were just being gripers and overreacting (perhaps because he is less familiar with nail polish remover...

If so, it seems that poisoners have gone down a knotch or two in effectiveness.
Fortunately.

Fortunately.
I don't think I'm going to be able to make the new book. The computer has taken up an unfortunate habit of not saving the changes I make to the file, and not saving the file either -- I have to do one of those "search all files" to find it and can only seem to find it in the 'autosave' cache with the stupid...

aw that sucks i'm sorry

I am working on a new book. I was trying to pick something easy, but then I got the idea to add illustrations. That's always a pain -- they take forever, you have to scan them or (slower still) draw them on the computer. It's much faster to slap down a coat of paint than to use that "fill" option and then have to go...

I'm glad you've had a good week.
And as far as the book... your perfectionism is showing. And I greatly admire that.

Well, my dreams of being finished with the dentist are dashed. Today that filling I got in about 6 months ago when one of my molars disintegrated went and broke. I wonder if the dentist fucked it up on purpose when I was there 3 days ago to make sure I'd have to go back.
wtk10025:
Sorry to hear.
My fillings are fulfilled! Hopefully no more worrying about dentists for a long time after this. Yaaaay!
Other news:
- Have most of my Xmas shopping already done. Got to buy presents for my cousin, niece, and maybe my grandmother's husband who is about 10 years older than I am and doesn't speak much English (gee, wonder why he's hard to shop for?) The companies...

UPDATES:
Finally got more dentist money together, will be going in early December hopefully to get those fillings I've been needing.
Added new section to Amazon Associates store in which I improvised as best I could some occult supplies out of the standard stock. Managed to actually find some neat stuff -- makes me wish I could buy from my own store. Link: http://astore.amazon.com/talstar-20?_encoding=UTF8&node=4

DEAR HOLLYWOOD
Please resume the old-fashioned habit of advertising movies by actually indicating what they're about, instead of just showing as many action clips as possible while listing the famous people involved. NO ONE unfamiliar with the books would have been able to guess what the plots of Where the Wild Things Are, Fantastic Mr. Fox, or even A Christmas Carol actually consist of based...

Surely we can't expect the American populace to actually care about things like plot and character when evaluating which entertainment is best suited to part them from their money. Next you'll want them to actually follow through on promises of quality made in their advertisements.
That Google redirect virus is back! This time I have taken to writing complaint letters to every single site I get redirected to. By the way, Yahoo is lame and I don't know how they can run a business where you need to make an account and sign in to provide site feedback. (Though frankly Google's worse -- if you get adsense, which is a...

Evidently, that disgusting old-beer-and-cigarette stench known from many a bar can be replicated by burning garlic then trying to disguise it with rose-scent room spray.

Ugh! Some knowledge is Not Meant For Man.
What's with all these stupid redirect viruses? The Toshiba laptop just got another one, the second in less than 6 months. My dad is having more trouble removing this one, the anti-malware he put on doesn't seem to be eating it, instead it's just removing a bunch of other files like the desktop background (too bad, it was a nice picture that I don't think...

Been so busy the last couple weeks! I agreed to do this horrible box for some charity auction -- Japanning takes long enough as it is, then a week before the surprise deadline (the auction isn't till November so I figured we had till then -- nope, suddenly I'm informed that Oct. 26 we needed it in) I got an air bubble under the paint...

No, indeed, art supplies do not magically materialize... nor do artists have 28 hours in their day.
I'm glad you also got to have some fun (the cape) and I shall think *very* good thoughts for you about getting the grant.
Drunken claims are usually... well, just drunken claims. At least it's better than drunken threats.
But anyway. Glad you're around.
You always have something interesting to add into the mix.

Wish you well with the grant. The cape sounds quite fine.
I am enjoying the painting, btw. I do like it a great deal.
