I'd say it's about time for an update. Much has happened since my last update.
I moved into my dorm Thursday. It's quite cozy. I've put up most of my posters, except for Bettie Page, cause that's gonna be a pain in the ass. Will do eventually.
I met my roomate. She's cute, but very "preppy" (for lack of a better word). She's an arcitect major, which is mighty impressive since Arcitecture and Engineering are Tech's two most competitive majors, and it's very difficult to get accepted in to one of the programs as a Freshman. We haven't said more than a dozen words to each other.
I had to say goodbye to Travis Friday around 10:30 am. I have pretty much been alone since then.
What I have done by myself in the past two days.
1. Made great use of the 30G of music I got from Mark before I left. (Even though my headphones are acting weird, and I have to balance them to the left or right to be able to hear treble) I need to get speakers soon.
2. Read about 50 more pages of I Am Legend (Such a good book!! )
3. Listened to ALOT of the Dresden Dolls (especially Yes, Virginia)
4. Knitted about 60 rows of my scarf.
5. Eaten 3 meals in the dining halls by myself.
6.Missed Travis like hell.
7. Found a Death from Sandman journal at the bookstore which I HAD to get, even though it was $10.
8.Cried 3 times. Once while I was knitting, and I didn't even realize it until I started to wonder why my yarn was wet, only then did I realized that tears were streaming down my face.
9. Walked around the campus a lot. Mostly to find the buildings in which my classes will be held.
10. Not spoken to anyone above a low rumble.
11. Basically been a total recluse. I'm so damn good at it.
Also, I was woken up this morning (10ish) to my cellphone ringing. I answered and it was Kristen! (one of my managers from the Hot Topic that I worked at for 2 years). I was excited to hear from her, but then she told me the reason she was calling.
She is pregnant, and not due until the end of September. Because he bloodpressure is SO high, they are going to have to induce labor very early because he blood pressure has become dangerous. She's in the hosptial in Roanoke, which is about an hour away from Blacksburg, and she wanted me to come visit her. I don't have a car, so this will prove to be very difficult. Well, my old manager from Hot Topic now works at the one in Roanoke. So if I can get in touch with her, it might be possible. But now I'm severely worried about Kristen and her baby, which is being born about a month early. I hope they're both OK!!!!
