Hands in the air if you've ever done the above celebratory dance while humming the tune to the Gypsy Kings version of 'Hotel California' backwards into a room and scared the shit out of a Polish woman. Come on. Let's see them dukes. Don't leave me alone here...

Hello!

The other day I saw two characters in a television show have a debate that, at the core, was the a debate about the Ciceronian way of thinking and the Machiavellian way of thinking. Ultimately the tenets of Machiavellian principle that a prince should acquaint himself with evil and be prepared to wield such a tool prevailed over the 'be virtuous at all times' rule as thumped by Cicero. I was impressed the the deftness of the scene.

Especially since the show in question was Neighbours. Unreal.

No prizes for guessing what book I've been reading nor are there any prizes for guessing what book that I'm working on has kept me away from the site. There may be a prize for guessing how many blood cells are carrying oxygen around my body right now. It depends on the way of the wind.

Three things I've learned about the recent Scottish election:

1. The SNP suck. Only good thing to come out of the election is that they'll never get independence through now. Plus they're a strictly one term government unless the effing Tories get back in London with a landslide majority. We Scots hate the Tories with a passion. Even though they somehow the election at the high school. Fools!

2. 7% of those that cast votes are thick. How the hell can someone screw up putting one cross in one side of the ballot paper and one cross in the other side --- like the bloody instructions told them to. Utterly stupid. Even more galling was the media point blank refusing to call those that screwed up their ballot papers thick, instead blaming it on confusion with the voting system -- even though the instructions were clear as day. Feck's sake. The only complaint I had with the ballot paper was that I couldn't draw a cock on the Local MSP ballot because it was on the same paper as the important List one. Just dumb.

3. Green Bay still sucks. Can never ram this point through enough.

Been pondering the nature of satisfaction. I asked myself, 'If I had the dream life I wanted for that minute - would I still want, for lack of a better word and not in the 'greed' sense, more?' My answer was yes. My belief is no matter what hay I make through life there'll be still other stuff I want to do/reap. It's kinda like 'The Princess and the Pea' thing. No matter how many layers of comfort I lay on I'll always feel the need for more digging into my back. Unless I sleep on my side of course. Or shift beds. That would work too. Hmmm, need to think about this more.

While I think (or do something resembling the thought process) here's another treat from a movie I watched last week and laughed at so hard and so often that the thought of having a heart attack crossed my mind.

Take it away.... THE DUDE

Don't make them like this anymore.

Or perhaps they do but they're all rubbish...
