Guess who left the door unlocked to the most important building on my rock on Monday? Journalists and neds could have had unfettered access to most important business. But they didn't hence I'm still in good graces with work. How that happened I'll never know. However in the course of my duties I have bruised ribs and nipped a finger (bloody thing still throbs) so in a karmatic stylish way the building has received some measure of revenge against my incompetence.

Or I'm just incompetent.

But then I would still have the keys to FIVE important offices sitting on my desk right now. Unless the powers that be are incompetent, which surely cannot be the case since we all work for local government. Surely?

What's cracking? Why it's my knees and shoulder. But aside from that I've spent the week watching Killer7 videos at YouTube, playing Need For Speed (my ride is the shits, or whatever the underground verbiage for 'the shits' is) and generally dossing around before work cranks up big style next week.

Watched Dodgeball last night. Bloody funny. There was an interesting story regarding the alternative ending though. Shan't share it but it's actually an example that a studio knows best when it comes to things like these. Sometimes. In this case at least. Without the studio we'd never have had the 'Fuckin' Chuck Norris' line.

Speaking of 'fuckin' Chuck Noris' somebody needs to send him round to the fuckwits at Creative Labs and have them roundhouse kick the living piss out of the designer 'geniuses' there for releasing a f'n 'portable media player' (their words, not mine, I use 'the thing') that crashes and freezes if you press the buttons TOO FAST and recommends you delete your data before chucking out their useless piece of shit 'firmware'. The bloody thing crashed on me and stalled while it was 'rebuilding the file library' after it had frozen as I was skipping tracks at a pace only the lazy and comatose could consider fast. Had I followed their piss poor instructions I'd be spending the night transferring back the data I lost, at best (at worst I'd be wrapping up the thing securely while adding dessicated lumps of rat shit from the rodent in the loft to convey my displeasure of having a FIVE WEEK OLD piece of equipment breaking down on me -- speaking of which, any ideas how to kill a rat -- blasting the fucker with a twelve gauge is not practical) Thankfully I was able to piece some thought together and deduced the problem wasn't the data but the piece of shit 'firmware' so I downloaded the upgrade and bugger Kirsten Dunst it worked.

So what did I learn from this experience:

1: I found out why these playesr were going for a song at Amazon.
2: In technical situations, the consumer with a clue knows better than the knob with a 'knowledge base'.
3: Creative Labs products aren't worth dick. Don't buy them.
4: Rat turds dessicate well.
5: Green Bay still sucks.

I'm off to watch Inside Man. Good day.
