argon

I am now home for thanksgiving. i got a whole week off of school which is lovely, except that all my professors assigned a lot of work in order to make up for it. at least i get to be doing homework all week without having to go to class. This town is pretty boring. it is not my hometown although i lived here for about two years before leaving to go to the university. its a pretty unpleasant place and i dont care much for its occupants, but the town does have a fair degree of charicter. everything here is falling apart. crumbling to peices. no one wants to admit it, but the town is dying. the population is aging, people are moving away, and the only new comers are hispanic immigrants. here is a town that when i hear someone say that "the 'mexicans' are only dirty because they've never seen a vacuum before; they've probalby always lived on dirt floors" they think they are being open minded and culturaly sensitive. i think this may be a long week.
