argon

so this rocking chair that i found needs to be fixed. the rockers are broken off of the legs of the chair. i went to the hard ware store to buy screws with one of my old roommates. i asked someone about what sort of screw would be apropriate for the job. he tells me that nails are no good for the job and that i need a really big strong screw because "you guys (my roommate and i) look like you'd be pretty rough with it." and he repeatedly told me that i need to drill hole before trying to put in the screw. he said it again as i went out the door. becasue we probably 'looked' like the type to not trust his expert advise. and what does what i look like have to do with anything... i will actually knit or read in that rocking chair. not "rough house" on it. or what ever exactly he said. guys at hardware stores can be pretty irritating, so anyway...
I really like my new room. its really big and there are wood floors and a huge window full of spiders. it smells old, and i love it. the food is great, but im a little anxious about signing up to cook. i have never cooked for more than 4 people, so cooking for 17 is a somewhat daunting job. the cats keep wanting to investigate/eat my gerbils, but i think i can successfully keep them out when im not around. the doors are really heavy and hard to open, so i think they'll very dissapointed that they wont get to spend any personal time with mirah and xiu xiu.
