Control, who needs it

Just pop your little 'friend'

It will be just fine

Give your mind time to mend

Overwhelmed by the numbness

Nope don't feel a thing

No sorrow or joy

But you are a stable being

Society is pleased

Safe from your ups and downs

All warm and fuzzy

As the monotony drowns

Squash the creativity

Mask the rebellious mind

Live their humdrum reality

Boredom not hard to find

What good does it do

To suck the life from my veins

Replace it with tedium

And you call me insane

They have removed the passion

Along with the rage

So that I feel nothing

Except the cold steel of this cage
