Saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory today. I though it was pretty good. The added flashbacks weren't the worst things about the movie, and made sense as to why they were added, although it took away from the original swing of the story-making it more about Willy Wonka and less about Charlie. Up until the last new song that the oompaloopma's did I felt like I wanted to stop my ears with popcorn. The last one though-which was rock opera-like, nearly made me laugh out loud.

I also rented Constantine. It is by far, one of the most underated movies that I have seen. I can't remember what the reviews for it said, but that allowed me to watch it with a clean slate. Plus, Satan was played by crazy-woodchipper-guy-in-Fargo Peter Stormare. Gavin Rossdale did a good job as Balthazar as well. I want to buy this movie, along with Hero, and Ghost in the Shell 2.

On the other hand, and I've probably said this before-The Dreamers was overrated-I was more impressed with the hour or so long documentary they did on protest and film in France in the 60's. I think the marketing was all wrong-it was just "TEENAGE SEX WOOHOO!" with nothing to back it up. Did the producers, or whoever think they could just build a movie on something that flimsy? At least it wasn't stereotypical teen movie sex whatever

I've a friend who thinks The Dreamers is like the greatest movie ever. I just have a thing for Michael Pitt, eventho I don't think he's hot or smart. There's just...something!
