Looking at Jessy's journal entry (she got married), I can't help but remember my great-aunt's reaction to my aunt's wedding.

My aunt had arrived to cart me from Columbia to Greenville to Grier(SC) to Dacula (Ga). I was at my great-aunt's house at the time being, and witnessed the incident.

My aunt told her that she had gotten married, of which my great aunt expressed surprise. My aunt then showed her pictures of the wedding (in her new house) and the reception (also in house, with catered food), and her new husband (whom she's known for 15 years).

To make a long story short my great-aunt, who's a Jehova's Witness said she wouldn't have come to the wedding even if it had been in a church and that the groom was too old.

My aunt is 43 has had her own place and career for longer than I've been alive (master's in education and MLS (Master's in Library Science-which she received while teaching English full time). In my opinion she could marry whomever the hell she wanted, and she shouldn't listen to the opinions of a woman whose house is full of nothing but Watchtower newsletters and whose hymen has probably turned to stone by now.

I'm not interested in getting married. I was never the little girl who paraded Barbie and Ken up to a makeshift altar...I've never held a baby. With all the shit that goes on in my family, I'm just focused on finding a girl or a guy that I can feel comfortable around and who respects me.

Matsubayashi Okinawan Karate! smile It was what was available, and then I'm the kind of person who gets an unreasonable loyalty to anything she starts, but hey, it's cool! My sensei teaches in a traditional way, and includes info on Okinawan culture and stuff. She's very cool, and is the only person in the world I wouldn't want to find out I was on here. biggrin

Rest homes of the future will have to cater to the pierced and tattood amongst us! "Ma'am, I'm here for your sponge bath and jewellery cleaning." biggrin
