Exciting things happening today.. my best girlfriend is finally a member and I actually met a Swede today. First Swedish person I've ever met, so it was exciting for me..she had a Swedish drivers license and everything!
Fires in the area are creating smoky days here now, I was hoping we wouldn't get any fires this year, but no such luck. Wait 9 long months for summer to get here and instead of sunshine we get smoke. Makes me wonder why in the hell I even live here!
Finally heard from our son last night...he is in the Air Force studying to be a cryptological linguist. He is learning Mandarin Chinese and studying his ass off. He is doing well and in the top 10% of his class. We are so proud!

hat's shitty about the fires though, I know how that is. Only a few summers ago, we had ash falling from the sky because of the intensity of the fires around us
We don't have any fires near here eyt this year but most are up near Fairbanks which is 98 miles from us. No smoke today thank goodness, nice clear day. Ash falling on you sounds scary...haven't had that happen yet, but we do get alot of silt blown in from the rivers when the wind blows.
