Ok time to update!!!
Here is what is happening in my life: Last Friday is was informed by phone about an hour after I got off work that my company was laying off 103 employees due to lack of funds. I was one of the 103 people. Now we had heard rumors that there would be more cuts(there was 49 lay offs two weeks before this) but the head of the company had sent out a mass email that said we would do our best to work "at risk" at the beginning of the week. I was informed I would be bumped back to, of all things, housekeeping. YIKES!!
Or I could take the lay off, get two weeks severance and keep my fingers crossed. Well, after much discussion and fretting, I decided to take the lay off. Sounds dumb, but I had a very strange, but familiar feeling that if I took housekeeping I would be stuck there forever. It just didn't feel right.
Anyway, come monday I went in and informed the company that I would be taking my money and running.
The next day was the Dept of Labor's Rapid Response meeting for all the dislocated workers, where they tell you all about unemployment and job training, yada,yada,yada. 2 hours and a numb ass later I get home and am informed I have to call work, so call I did. They want to know if I would like my job back.........
Needless to say I got my job back and got two weeks severance and the Union I belong to is looking at suing the company for 60 days severance due to lack of proper notice.
So anyone that read my last update about seeking donations for airfare to Texas in July, thanks but I got it covered! lol
On to other more depressing news....our weather SUCKS!!!
It has been warmer, but we have no sun and several forest fires (one just down the road about 20 miles) so we are breathing smoke which usually doesn't happen til July. All I want to do is lay out in my new Coconut nectar suntan lotion and bake! Is that too much to ask???? Somebody please send me some sun! I look like a dead fish you see floating upside down in the river. EEEWWW
My little AF recruit is doing well I guess. She called last weekend and gave us her address, so she is still alive and kicking! That;s progress!
Ok I am finished, hope I didn't bore you all to tears. hehehe
