UGH! I am sick again; I don't think I ever really recovered from the cold I had last month. I think it may be a sinus infection or worse, bronchitis. Certainly I've been coughing up all sorts of green, nasty stuff. The problem is, more often than not I hack up a lung trying to expel the gunk from my body, but just as it comes up the muscles controlling the swallowing reflex kick in and back down it goes. Then there's the sticky, green, nasty gunk I'm blowing out of my nose. I sound like a freight ship's horn every time I blow my nose.
Yes, I am describing things best left undescribed, especially to those reading this who've just eaten or are planning to eat very soon. My apologies, but I need to vent and this is my venue so...
On to something that is not gross.
About a week and a half, two weeks ago I met this gal on MySpace. We've been hitting it off pretty well, exchanging messages and chatting on the phone a few times. She's divorced, and is going through a lot of issues right now, so plans we had to meet over coffee fell through. Bummer, but I sent her a message saying if she's not ready to hang out yet that's fine and to let me know when she is ready. I seem to have scored some points doing that, because she sent me a reply back saying she's impressed at my preceptiveness. So we've agreed to stick with the MySpace/phone conversations for the time being.
It's really weird though, how much Candi (that's her name) and I have in common. Especially family issues. We both have bitch-mothers who treat us like dirt and for whom everyone has to walk on eggshells to avoid setting them off; we both have fathers with whom we get along better, and who have had bypass surgery for heart conditions. Then, of course, we share many of the same favorite movies and music. We're both Taureans, and we both like to experiment in trying out different foods from around the world.
Hopefully we're able to meet sooner rather than later, because I have a feeling we'd get along very well. So we'll just have to see what happens.
I am waiting on word from Cleveland Tenants Organization about when I begin my new job, and when I'm supposed to leave for Chicago for the training session. Supposedly I'm going this month, but I just got off the phone with the guy who's a director there, and he says it may have been pushed back to December. He'll get back to me later today, and tomorrow or Thursday we'll fill out the paperwork (W-4's, direct-deposit form, etc.). Slow going, but at least it's going.
