So, I won't get onto a large incident this season (turned down my last chance last week)...but I do get to play in this tomorrow...
We are starting our prescribed burns. The weather has to be right, and we don't start until the crews return and everything starts to calm down for the fall. It's not as intense as a full-suppression fire, but we still have to keep our guard up (there is a reason we don't say "control" burn...and we say "prescribed"...)
At any rate...it will be good to get out of the office and back into fire for a day. I can smell the smoke from this burn now...even though I have asthma, I love the smell of wildfire. I think it becomes quite familiar and it reminds me of my goals in life
