Well here's another update:
Yesterday, it looked as though we weren't going to get the kayaks done, or rather, my kayak in particular. But, Aradia stayed up all night last night, and got mine all but done. Wow.
So on today's plate is:
1. Get some quarter cut oak for the coaming (the steam bent round opening of the cockpit)
2. Steam bend it.
3. Skin Aradia's kayak
4. Finish and prepare mine for skinning.
5. Make paddles.
Tomorrow, I hope it'll be:
1. Skin the chickmunk kayak
2. Paint a few coats
3. Make float bags
4. Begin making spray skirts.
Oh yeah, and today is Aradia and my 3 year anniversary. Can hardly believe it myself. With all this effort he put into making mine (even though he could have just skinned his and not done the second one) I think I'll have to spoil him sometime soon. He deserves it, that's for sure! We're not really getting eachother anniversary gifts, because those are the kayaks. I'll have to do something though.......
