Another update:
We ran into a couple bumps over the weekend. Our bandsaw temporarily died, and then last night, we blew the braker and had to call it quits for the night because we had to wait for the maintance man to flip the switch in the morning (we don't have access to it for the garage). However, we have managed to stay more or less on schedule.
1. We've got the gunnels completely done, and pinned.
2. We've finished cutting, fitting, pinning and lashing all the deck beams. The boat is now freestanding, and out of all the jigs.
3. We've steam bent all the ribs (the curved parts the run from one side underneath the boat and to the other side, similar to a U shape) , put them in and sanded them.
We're working on the bow (front) and stern (back) pieces.
We hope to finish the keelson (the bottom piece of the boat) and chines (lower side pieces that determine the stability and manueverablity of the boat) tonight.
Then tomorrow, it's on to finish work. Hopefully we will be done with all of the by tomorrow, or early Wednesday at the latest. Then, we get to start all over with mine.
If things go reasonably well, then we should be able to finish mine by next Monday, or Early Tuesday. Then, we get to skin them both, Make float bags (bags filled with air that take up space inside of the kayaks, so that it can't fill completely with water and sink) and spray skirts (things that go around your waist and cover the cockpit to prevent the kayak from taking on water when paddling, in rough water, or doing rolls)
It looks like we might actually get all this shit done.

PS: I really love classical music, too. Often have Debussy or Mozart playing in my head (typically at work, where I am forever trying to maintain a "positive attitude.")
