I get asked this question a lot and I figured I'd answer it for everyone wondering.
At the age of 15, I was dating a girl across the US in Indiana. We were talking one day on YIM (yes, back when Yahoo IM existed), and she was talking about Suicide Girls, hot tattooed and pierced models that gave no fucks about what people thought. She jokingly said that I should apply when I was old enough. From there, I became obsessed with the idea. I instantly became a huge fan of everything that SG did.
When I was 15, 16 and 17, I was going through a lot of hard times. I was made fun of at school, picked on, bullied - all of that stuff that teenage girls go through. I was lost and didn't know what to do with myself.
The day after I turned 18, I applied to be a Suicide Girl. I filled out the first form and sent it. I eagerly waited for a few days and finally received an email that I had been accepted to shoot my first set and to become a Hopeful! I was excited, to say the least. I told my friends, and they were excited for me as well.
Word had gotten out about it at school, and one "moron" decided to continually spread it. Once again, I was being made fun of at school, saying "You can't do it. You're too ugly." "They don't want you. They only hire pretty girls."
When I finally became an SG, I guess it was a big slap in the face for all of them.
Thank you, to all the idiots who made fun of me during high school. You only pushed me further to accomplish what you said I couldn't.
Don't ever let anyone put you down or let them say you can't do something. If you try hard enough, you surely can.
