Im looking for an explanation for something and Im hoping one of you can help me out. See, there are plenty of things about this world and society that just make me want to force animal guts down its throat and scold it for the direction in which its headed. I dont know if its just me or if anyone else sees how society is going to hell in a hand basket. And this is solely based on observations of what interests people nowadays. Like these:
1. There is a bigger chance you will click on a link entitled Honest Sexting: Talking Dirty With Your Thumbs than Why Libyas Uprising Is Bad for the World Economy.
2. You will most likely share a link of something that made you laugh than that made you think.
3. You will forward me e-mails about some girl named Emily that is going to shove barbie heads down my anus if I dont forward the mail to at least 18273 people (Im paranoid enough to actually do this, but thats beside the point) than how to get involved with non-profit organizations.
4. You will stare at me like Im fucking mental when I try to have a conversation about the concept of pornography (which, fyi, has nothing to do with the degrading of women).
5. You will, on average, spend more time on Facebook and Twitter than on The Time or BBC News.
You get the point. Musings about movies and art and our place in this big heap of moving and breathing cells has become a concept too complicated for the simple-minded masses to grasp.
There are just so many things that fascinate me, you know. Like how I wonder what the world would be like if there were never any traces of religion- would it be anarchy or order? What if music was a religion? What if everyone just found all of the answers to life in a song?
Oh, and another thing that gets to me is how closed-minded some people are. This one time I was out with my dad and some family members when a guy that was sitting with us promptly decided to announce:
All women have the same filling; they just all come in different packaging
Hot damn, the women at the table were FURIOUS and refused to go ANY more into it, because oh my God, honey, that is sooo sexist or some other nonsense. But I, as an 18 year old at the time, was completely and totally fascinated by that statement. Even now, 3 years later, I still want to send that guy an e-mail to discuss this further.
But I digress. Can anyone else see some reason behind this or have I officially lost my mind?

People are like sheep... kinda, they do what they're told without questioning if it is the right thing to do... they like to think the world is a perfect place with unlimited resources... we are in the midst of a global collapse and people still believe their government when it days there is nothing wrong with the way we live, we're fucked as a society and it saddens me... oh well to late to do anything aboot it..
