My first ever cosplay set came out yesterday!! So I want to share the story of how I became Ramona with you -
When the film "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" came out, I had no idea what it was and had never read the comics. Here's a little flashback photo to how I looked when the film came out:
In the time the film was out in cinema, I was approached close to a dozen times by people asking me if I was cosplaying Ramona, or just letting me know that I looked like her and that I should watch the film.
Eventually, curiosity got the better of me, so I watched the film. And I fell in love. I purchased every comic I could and practically inhaled them. I loved the style, I loved the story, I loved this character and of course I adored that people thought I looked like her. I share her sarcasm, her style and her general tendency towards being alone.
Being called "Ramona" never went away - even when I had long, blonde hair, I'd get the occasional DM or comment letting me know that I reminded someone of Ramona. And those who know me well know that my style always cycles back to something which resembles her - often layered, often bright with some dark, gothy influences - I even wore goggles on my head regularly when I was younger - and even now, I carry a replica of Ramona's subspace bag around at university.
So, yeah. This is a cosplay set. But it feels so, SO "me."
