Blog Homework Time! What I've achieved in the past year, and what I'd like to achieve in the next year.

@Rambo and @Missy asked us to look at our 'time capsules' from last year, and see what we've achieved in the last year, if we wanted to! If not, we were invited to list what we'd like to achieve in the next year.

So, my first set wasn't in the queue yet this time last year! And I have no time capsule. But that doesn't mean a LOT hasn't happened. The photo on the left up there is me on the morning of the first ever Suicide Girls Shootfest I went to, in Brisbane around this time last year. On the right is me within the last monthish! I don't really look very different, but I'm SO DIFFERENT. So many things have happened. So even though I didn't create a time capsule, here's a little overview of huge differences in my life from one photo to the other.

1. In the left photo, I still consumed animal products. In the right photo, I've led a 100% cruelty free lifestyle for around eight months.
2. In the left photo, although you can't see it, my back is bare! On the right, I've FINALLY started the Dark Tower themed full back piece of my dreams.
3. In the left photo, I'm a Suicide Girls Applicant. In the right, I'm a Suicide Girl!
4. In the left photo, I had no female friends. A literal zilch. In the right, I have friends all over Australia, really all over the world!
5. The big one, I guess! In the left, I was working a casual job and had no real direction in life. On the right, I'm partway though a psychological science degree, and I'm pregnant with my first child!

So what about the year coming? It took me a moment to come up with anything. Being pregnant and going to university, it kind of feels like my life has been set out for me in the next year, I guess. But when I think further about it, there are definitely still things I want to achieve within the constraints which have been set for me. So here we go.

1. Give birth to a healthy baby. I guess this is something I have not all that much control over, but I CAN always do whatever I can. Eat healthy, do some exercise, meditate, etc.
2. Pass at least three university units! It'll be hard with an infant and I'll probably need to drop down to part time, or do work via correspondence, but I really don't want my study to be totally halted.
3. Begin the process of achieving my pre-baby body. It might not ever happen, or it might take a long time to happen, but I CAN slowly get back into more intense exercise and I CAN diet to lose any weight I need to.
4. Do everything I can to help with my chronic pain. When I found out I was pregnant, I needed to withdraw from the opiates I was taking. Coping has been a struggle since then, but it'll be a long time until I can resume that treatment. So I want to learn to meditate in order to help pain, maybe work with a natropath or hypnotist if money allows it and learn to control my pain as well as I can.
5. Take my journey with veganism further! Since I've lived cruelty free, I've felt a lot more congruence with my personality in general. I've always loved animals, but there was that cognitive dissonance which kept me from actually living the lifestyle of someone who loves animals. I want to help where I can. I want to volunteer, and foster old or sick animals who would otherwise be euthanized.

So there it is! I hope my wall of text didn't bore you too much. Tell me what you want to achieve in the next year in the comments!! I'd love to hear.

You could try acupuncture for your pain. Best wishes with giving birth to a healthy baby safely.
