Wow...the people in my life are so strong...and I am so glad that they feel they can come to me when they aren't feeling as strong as they are.
I just had dinner with a friend I met when I was working at Petsmart...Her Leukemia is back and she's been doing kemo treatments for the past 3 months. Well she just found out she is a month pregnant. I said "How?" and she said that was what she said when she found out. Now, she is completely against abortion, but with how weak she is, keeping it could kill her, the baby or both. She probably wouldn't make it to term, in fact because she would have to stop the kemo treatments....she's only 19.
On top of that the father is being a complete asshole about the whole thing. When they were dating he was all about "I would never do anything to hurt you, even when your sick I wouldn't bail on you." Now he could care less and told her she's out of his life as of today, and if she tried to get the $400 riding jacket she bought him back he would file a restraining order. WTF ?!?! WHY ARE GUYS LIKE THAT??????
Well as much as she doesn't like the fact that she's going to have to go through with the abortion, she would rather be able to have a child with someone who is going be supportive and she has her whole life and if she were to carry this one she might not.
I am amazed at how strong she is. I'm glad that even at 19, she is so mature in her decisions and that she can understand all sides of the risks. I can only hope that karma works its magic fon him and he gets what is coming.....She deserves SO much better than he would probably ever be able to offer.
Her doctor is helping her out A LOT and the procedure is going to be on Thursday (because if they wait any longer, the abortion could kill her too). I'm gonna check up on her and make sure she is okay in all aspects....it's a big deal for a 19 y.o...She's always in my thoughts...she's such an amazing and beautiful person.

i hate to sound harsh... it's unfortunate that she has to terminate against her wishes, but if there's any consolation, it's that at least she won't be bringing any more of THAT asshole's genes into the world...
