Im up to my neck in work. Which I really want to get done so I can head to the Bundanoon Celtic Festival with my man with a clear head. Nothing worse than listening to a pipe band with unanswerable work-related worries swimming around your skull eh?

I also want to get said work done so I can go dig in my garden. Luckily we have had some rain which has got me out of watering duties for a while.

Bought some galangal. Chucked half of it in a pot hoping it will sprout. The other half is destined to become phad thai. mmmmm. Any rhizome growing experts out there?
Made an appointment with a medical specialist. I have an annoying condition that (among other things) gives me thoroughly irrational paranoia and tooth-grinding like you wouldnt believe. With symptoms like this, who needs speed? I dont have high hopes for any solutions, but yeah another opinion is always welcome.
Feeling disgustingly unfit.
Have been trying to trap rabbits in my new humane possum trap (basically a cage trap). Had been intending to kill and butcher them for food, as rabbits are an introduced species that wreak havoc with the local ecology, not to mention Im all for animals living free and happy lives before ending up on my plate. Those plans came crashing sown when I saw a rabbit hopping very slowly around the farm. Wayyy to slowly for a healthy rabbit. On closer inspection it showed all the signs of advance myxamatosis - not a pretty sight. I put the rabbit out of its misery with a baseball bat, and no longer intend to eat any wild rabbits from my area (if one has it they likely all have it, albeit in the early stages). Instead I bought a frozen one from the local butcher. If I do end up rearing rabbits for food, they will have to be domestic meat rabbits, housed in mosquito-tight conditions (myxo is spread by mozzies).

Well its kind of traditional. My mother's family have reared and butchered their own rabbits since time immemorial.
Well I live in a rural area, so if I wanted to start a full scale rabbit farm, I could. But I think its legal to keek a few hutches of rabbits in suburban areas for food. My grandmother lived in the city and kept rabbits in her backyard.
