really, how do i start explaining the best day of my life? How do i go about describing what it is to live out your craziest fantasy? my band opened for Mindless Self Indulgence. we opened for FUCKING Mindless Self Indulgence. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? My favourite band since my highschool days. Easily my biggest musical influence. and better yet, we were well recieved! SURREAL does not describe it.
I got to the venue REALLY early, because there were guestlist issues but also because it was like waking up on x-mas morning and losing your virginity at the same time, thus i was not able t sleep. Too anxious. Got to the Croation Cultural Center at 1pm. Talked to the House Of Blues guys about set up, monitor mixes, ect. 3 rolls around and Dan and Lou show up. Our name is in print everywhere next to MSI's. I see that it says MSI does a sound check at 4. WHOA. Malcolm needs help getting the merch ironed. NOT ME. dan and lou can handle it, I'm gonna watch my fave band play a few of their songs in their normal clothes! RIDICULOUS. Keep in mind this was the 7th time i was seeing them. Keep in mind i bought a fucking ticket to this. The roadie for MSI remembers me, we chat. His name is Aaron. rad dude. We do soundcheck and i am so happy to be on the stage i've been seeing bands i love play on since my early teens. My merch kids do me proud. Garret makes a SICK merch sign for us.
Fast forward a few hours. People are showing up. Isaac (DJ Pandemonium) tells me that there were 900 tix sold BEFORE the doors opened and they started selling more at the door. that is more than the commodore ballroom. oh shit. My parents are here, highschool peeps i haven't seen SINCE hs are here. all the crackerz. Every girl i ever liked locally. a few ex-gf's. WTF! we better be good.....
luckily i am a big enough uber fan to know how to talk to the fans. i tell them not to chant 'anal sex'. i call them crackerz. i make fun of the goths. i generally harrass them. the funny thing is was how foul my mouth gets on stage. i dont even notice it. my fucking parents were there. LOUIS' Catholic ass parents were there!~ anyway, we did well. a few fuck ups, but i felt good about it all. My parents saw me sign autographs and saw little gothy girls kissing on me. retarded. surreal. Lorra and i hung out a lot during the show and afterwards with Jimmy.

Lorra and i went to Seattle to see them again. I think Jimmy got arrested. I got worried actually. Aaron seemed stressed about it. He said he loved my band and wishes he bought a t shirt. The same goes for their merch guy who used to be THROWDOWN's merch guy. He says he's disappointed we only got to play the one show. Fucking rad dudes. I also talked to the bass player form schoolyard heroes about trading off shows in Seattle and Vancouver. Steve asked why we weren't playing the show. what can i say? he also came out of the tour bus in just his underwear with an orange stuffed in it and said 'get the fuck outta here!' like Tony Soprano.
Anyway, there is a lot more i'm forgetting i'm sure. But i'm so fucking exausted from malnorishment and lack of sleep. good night SG. i hope your past few days have been amazing as mine.
