It's beautiful outside today... business as usual.

Some cattle have wandered onto my property, I might go over and have a chat with them.

jonnytrrrash7:
i saw some cattle on the bus ride home today. i didn't get a great feeling from them.

Uncle Donkey Kong sits at the kitchen table and lords over the Sunday paper.

He dissects it lazily, perusing the coupons first, then skimming the meaningless tripe in Parade magazine. He could be struggling with the front page while the funnies lie folded somewhere in the middle of the stack all morning, because he refuses to surrender any part of the paper until he reads...

The name of the place where I go to Tai Chi is called The Circle of Life.

The Circle of Life is a humble outfit, usable floorspace a mere 20'x40'. At The Circle of Life, we do the Swingin' Branches. We do the Archer and the Flick. We even do the Deer. Yes, we do all 16 dances.

Strange, I find myself in auspicious-sounding places...

waldo_jeffers:
Ok not that getting attacked by a dog is amusing, but the fact that it would happen at a place called Dog Beach...

My new hobby is going well.

I'm very pleased with the new skateboard. Since this is all new to me, it's fast becoming addictive.

I've fallen down about a hundred times now and I think I'm close to mastering that part.

I'm psyched to begin learning grinds and slides.

I wish I'd gotten into this 25 years ago.

tisiphone3:
I think you'll have a blast! Skateboarding can easily become your life. I honestly think wiping out is half the fun of it smile
frost:
skateboard huh? i still cant even stand on those F-ing things. my one year old is obsessed with them though. i think she will be a little skater chick.

I was given one of those memory-foam pillows for my birthday. It's heavy.

I've taken up Tai Chi classes.

I've lost a lot of weight, so much so that I decided I should buy a skateboard and try vert.

And now, I'll tell ya 'bout the nervous breakdown, not so much as an attempt to demystify it but perhaps as more of a lighthearted warning....

"I hate straight people..."

I could describe the girl's appearance, but it wouldn't matter. Shopping malls have a homogenizing effect; the individual becomes blurred. Identity is morphed, a peg meant to be banged into the most convenient hole. Everyone is on sale. This is by no means a phenomenon exclusive to gringos. Ever been to a mall where everyone was black? It's the same thing....

Fell off the wagon the other night, decided to get drunk; got too drunk.

Called up an old druggie friend.

Went to a bar to make a deal. The deal fell through.

I ended up staying for karaoke. Dazzled the old folks with my 70's repertoire.

Fortunately, someone was there to carry me out at closing time.

A sheriff's deputy, who, coincidentally - was an...

Don't be too hard on yourself.

Maybe the fact is you just got a long time's worth of pent-up shit out of your system.

Now move on.

Happy Birthday! smile

... and now, people. I will attempt to demystify the 'near-death experience'.

An old geezer once sang the words "There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke". If I'd never heard of the internet, I would sincerely doubt this notion. But, I'm getting ahead of myself; let me begin by telling you a little story about how I...

Moving.

I still don't know what snarky means, but the word nevertheless makes me want to commit murder yet.

... I heard some say once that the world can't tell you who you are, and you shouldn't let it.

scheisskopf:
I certainly second that one!
jonnytrrrash7:
i keep forgetting that.

Where I grew up from is hardly a town without a name, but it is most certainly devoid of a soul.

There are no mean streets to speak of, but I was once accosted by some bastard sons of dumb jocks who happened to assimilate into one third of a local high school baseball team and, piled into the designated prickmobile, tailed me going about...
