An unforeseen turn of events put me at the late showing of Sweeney Todd on Christmas Eve with my cousin J. It was at once a very sober and bizarre night.
Many strange people turned up, which was not unexpected. Some of those strange people walked out; musicals require some measure of commitment, I guess.
It was OK.
We went to Denny's afterward, nothing else was open. It was a strange scene there as well. What sort of people would you expect to find at a Denny's at one o' clock Christmas morning. The dregs of society? Maybe.
We ordered some kind of hamburger that comes stopped with an egg and hash browns. Stopped? Topped. I stopped an artery or something... If my doctor had seen that mess I would have surely gotten slapped, and a stern talking to.
It was OK.
We hung out until 5 AM. We didn't really have anything better to do.
