"The Ocean is a Desert with its' Life underground Blues"

I guess if I spent more time here in Ft. Lauderdale I would recognize a clear delineation between the good side and the bad side of town.

My Dad is doing a splended job of letting his property become a blight on the community at large. So I imagine the bad side of town starts outside the front door.

A casual walk around the 'hood reveals a boring homogenous mess. The layout of the streets confounds me, the last time I visited I got lost every other day. Usually, I don't mind getting lost, I'm a patient person. Getting lost around here just pisses me off, there's nothing to look at. And the humidity is really something else - I think you have to be born here not to notice it or let it drive you mad.

The beach is about a five mile trek, quite do-able. The beach culture here is nothing like the scene I'm used to in San Diego. It's hopelessly uncool. However, the water is warmer than the Pacific and generally stays that way year 'round. This being the off-season, the beaches are mercifully uncrowded. It probably breaks down to a couple dozen bare breasts per square mile of beach. It's difficult for me not to stare.

The ocean doesn't speak to me like the desert does, I've listened... it just sounds like a seashell. Ironically, it kind of smells like a seashell too.

I could score some 'shrooms from the dealer around the corner from here. Maybe go back to the beach and try to spiritually commune with it again, but with my luck I'd probably get bitten by a shark. That shit never happens in the desert... although I did break my collarbone falling down a mountain once. Yeah, the desert spoke to me that time...
