My employer was sweet enough to let all of their employees have off the whole 4th of July weekend. So that is including today and tomorrow.
My husband, having sympathy vacation love, took the same days off.
What do we have planned?
Nada...nothing...
Because everything seems to cost money. Seriously...when did everything on planet earth get ridionkulously expensive?
So..since I have nothing of real merit to post about..
Shows coming up I am insanely excited about:
- High on Fire w/ Mono. seriously...nothing can really top this bill. My ears and eyes may bleed for weeks.
- Ted Leo w/ the Thermals. Not just a great pairing...but its going to be free to boot!
- Jesu. Sure..they're kind of insane with an equally insane stage presence...but who doesn't love a good car wreck of a show!
- Siren Festival in lovely Coney Island. My favorite place soon t be torn down. The lineup is so so. Detroit Cobars are a highlight. I would be happy about the New York Dolls if I actually liked them. And Cursive only gets about 1% of my attention. But the whole event itself is definitely worth the drive up there. I'm sad this will probably be the last one.
I'm sure there's more shows coming up I'm forgetting. But I do have a lot of nothing to fit in today....I'm a busy woman!
oh...and ps...I got an Xbox 360 finally...I'm sure that will keep us entertained for awhile..

Normally I like just going out driving somewhere, but anymore I give second thought to it simply cause I hate having to buy gas at the insane prices these days.
And thank you for posting about High On Fire/Mono. I'm so there. That's a kind of odd bill, but yeah.
