Philadelphia has fallen in line after such cities as LA and NY and passed a smoking ban.
I hate this city more then before now.
Besides having to fork over money in the form of a wage tax...even if I DON'T EVEN WORK IN THE STATE! I now can't even enjoy a stupid cigarette in a dive bar. Sure...my eyes will be happier and my clothes won't smell....but there's something great about drinking a beer with friends and having a smoke. There's a reason why this little act of rebellion and joy has been written about in books, sung in songs and flickered across movie screens.
I think the choice of keeping an establishment smoking or smoke free should be left up to the owner, not the local government.
I'm saddened that the city I live in would rather plan out casinos and water parks and enforce a smoking ban then hire more ambulances, police officers, or even put a dent in an ever climbing murder rate. This is one of the worst cities in the nation. We have one of the top poverty rates, polution rates, and it is one of the worst places to live.
There is just so much other crap going on that should be a higher priority.
God I hate this city...I really do. I will be so very happy when I get the fuck out of here. I will miss Pennsylvania, but man...will I not miss this crappy little corner of it!

I think I found a house in fishtown, 3 blocks from Johnny Brenda's. It's a cool spot. I'm excited!
