so no plans yet for this holiday weekned and thats fine with me
after last weeks craziness, im happy staying home and playing Battlefield 2 till my hand stops working.
i think my lady and i are going to go take a peak at the chaos of Live 8
we might as well cause were here in the city anyway
ill take some pics if i can

last night there was a crazy t-storm that rolled through the city. it lasted for about twenty minutes but it did some major damage in my neighborhood.
lots of branches all around and a few trees were ripped apart
we went walking around last night and realized that
over in Washington Square Park there was a huge ass tree on the gorund. it look like it blew up.
it sucks beacuse those trees in the park are around two hundred years old.
and i know the parks dept. will never get around to replacing them. it sucks seeing so many trees all damged like that.

i know way too much about that park and many other places in Philly.
i cant help it im a complete history freak and like to give people half-assed history tours when they visit.
its one of philly's redeaming values. all the history and stories around here.

Yeah man, that was craziness. I had to walk around the park, instead of through it, on my way home.

Awww, sad tree death. frown A lot of the trees in this town's parks died last year due to a freak ice storm. The weight of the ice broke all the branches off of quite a few trees.

So how do you find out weird history about your town? What sources do you use? That sounds entertaining.
