no, actually, i'm not bad. i can dance alone. or in that ridiculous invention of the 90s, the circle dance. but one-on-one dancing is very hard for me. i know what i'm going to do, but i can't predict what my partner is going to do. when i try, i'm wrong.
i realize that tradition dictates i'm to take the lead. it is in this that my flaws are exposed. as soon as i take my partners hand, i can no longer hear the music. my only thoughts are on the feet, and the hands, and the eyes. avert your eyes. don't look.
what are the chances that OMD's If You Leave, the ultimate slow dance song for my generation, would come up in a Winamp playlist of over 2000 songs? especially considering i didn't even know i had that song in my playlist.
it's been a very long time since i've been out dancing. i used to do it all the time. sunday night. pitchers of beer. loads of friends. the occasional last-call make out session. (if i was able to avoid the embarrassing last dance debacle.)

the new job was sadly the best part of my last week.. the only thing that was reliable, and the only thing that didn't fiercely kick me in the groin.. i don't think i'll be checking out the prom thing.. turns out i'll be working a night shift that day..
the last time i heard omd was friday night at "the nac" circa 1996.... probably with a quart bottle of 50. london hardcore!
