it's time to erase my harddrives. it's kind of like starting over. you know? like moving day. "holy shit, it's a whole new place" he says, "a place for all my shit!"

the thing is, i want to keep the shit.

my whole life i've been collecting diskettes, like memories. i have, like, one photo album. but when i wanted to remember my best bud from elementrary school, i eBay'd myself a commodore 64 and read his old BBS messages. the system i had lost years before, but i always keep disks. when i worked at a computer store, one of the other employees gave me
3 boxes of disks, used, for the commodore 64.

'why are you giving me these things?' it's like someone had handed me a box of of someone else's photographs. "maybe you'll have a used for 'em?'

i think my penchant for typing without capital letters comes from the commodore 64, as well. it had no shift-keys. they were both broken. but it did have the SFT-LCK.

it got a little annoying.

John Cusack is the best. I can't believe I never really had seen Grosse Point Blank either. His Sister's character was my favorite. I love how she described her 10 year high school reunion as, "It was just as if everyone had swelled."

Classic biggrin

alisa:
i just read your post in the ac/dc black sabbath led zeppelin thread and you listed that your fav. led zeppelin song was: since i've been loving you.

that just struck a chord with me because apparently (from what my husband tells me) i put that song on a mixed tape for him when we were teenagers. and that when we lived in different parts of the country whenever he heard that song he would think of me love

thanks for reminding me of that
