I had a lovely evening off with Jessica, blowing lots of money on perfume, underwear, cute shirts, and pizza, and more importantly, talking about all the things we haven't been able to talk about since a certain dick ex-something of mine came into her life.

It meant more than it has from anyone else to hear her say that she's really happy I've met a nice guy, since around Christmastime she was more inclined to insinuate that I'd been the one to fuck everything up with Josh than to understand exactly what a dick he'd been. Luckily, he managed to do some of the same crap to her that he did to me, but not as seriously, and she understands now.

The boy and his son are supposed to take me to lunch tomorrow from work. I am kinda stressing that. Kids love me--an adorable one tried to hand me a screw he'd picked up off the floor in a store tonight--but I am completely terrified of them.

We shall see.
