You want to know how seriously uncool I am? Huh?

Jill and I split the cost of the Alanis Morrissette Jagged Little Pill Acoustic Redux today at Starbucks. Yeah, I'm way lame. But after a hard week and a half of writing music reviews, interviews, and the like like a madwoman, I deserve to cheese out and remember being 14.

I left the boy (which, as I have said, he is definitely not) a card on his car at work tonight. I said something the other night that kinda made him sad and even though I apologized and we talked until it was all good, I felt the need to do something else. I was going to make him a mix CD but that's been done, Jill thought I should bake cookies but that's not my style, and I just don't have the creative energy to come up with anything else good. So he got a little note that hopefully made him smile when he got out of work tonight. Would YOU like that?

I have a million things I want to do tomorrow. Have to work. Need to make sure the tripod I bought tonight works with my video camera and that it is charged and I have tapes for the Lucero video interview I'm doing on Wednesday. Yeah, I know, I won't shut up about this band until everyone who reads my journal has bought at least one of their albums and gone to see them live.

I also want to go see The Ballad of Jack and Rose at our local indie theater, which only has movies for 1 week and only does shows at 4 and 7, making my life fucking difficult. and I want to dye my hair, but that might just have to wait. Damnit.

But once this video interview is done, my workload is far lighter, at least as far as the magazine is concerned. As far as the bike shop goes, I am EFFED for the rest of the summer.

I would love to find a note like that. I was just recently going through a bunch of boxes of old stuff and found my stash of old notes, letters and other stuff from old girlfriends, including a note I got from the office from my high school (!) saying that this particular girlfriend had called and that I was supposed to go straight to her house after school. I always thought that it was pretty cool that she thought to do that and also that they actually took the message and gave it to me.

Just tuning in. That was a nice gesture with the card. I know I've always enjoyed written communications from women, particularly the one I'm with (when I am with one). I especially enjoy it when there's a dialog happening only on paper that we don't speak about directly. It's nice.
